Merriam Parks, Recreation & Community Center Foundation

Merriam Parks, Recreation & Community Center Foundation was established in 1988 for the purpose of supporting Merriam recreational facilities, programs, and parks. Since that time, the foundation has donated over $170,000 to purchase equipment and in sponsorship of events / programs. The Foundation is an independent, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.

Our recent projects include:
Program and membership scholarships for low income Merriam residents
Professional wall covering and lighting for the art gallery
Sponsorship of Flags 4 Freedom event
Benches at Brown and Chatlain Playgrounds
Lifeguard chairs at Merriam Aquatic Center
Sponsorship of Sunday Funday in Merriam
Replacement of community center gym floor

In 2003, the Irene B. French Giving Tree was established by the Foundation to recognize individuals and community partners who donate financial support.
