Merriam Historic Plaza

6304 E. Frontage Road
The Merriam Historic Plaza was established in August 2006, this attraction complements other notable historic sites found throughout Merriam and features a walking path with 12 markers depicting the history of Merriam from pre-settlement to current day. The plaza also boasts an original bronze sculpture by local artist kwan Wu, entitled, "The Bear Pit." Visitors can enjoy convenient access to Merriam Historic Plaza while traveling through Kansas City along Interstate 35. The Merriam Visitors Bureau can provide helpful travel and tourism information for guests and visitors to our region. Meeting space for up to 50 people also can be reserved in the conference center.
