BROWN PARK

Named for civil rights activist, Esther Brown, a local Merriam housewife who organized citizen support to end segregation in Merriam schools in the 1940's. Brown Park features 3.68 acres, new play equipment, pavilion, grills, picnic tables, signage, a drinking fountain and waste/recycling containers. Near Turkey Creek, this neighborhood park is a beloved gathering place in the metro.
CAMPBELL PARK

Campbell Park, originally referred to as “Old Horseshoe Bend” is nestled where 61st Street meets Turkey Creek. Looking across the creek, one can see the remains of an access road that was once utilized as the east/west thoroughfare. Campbell Park is a unique park for the city in that the land is owned by the Merriam Drainage District of Johnson County. Named after David Gee Campbell, the man accredited in establishing the first community of 20 homes in approximately 1864, Campbell Park has seen many improvements in its 42 years! Today the City of Merriam is responsible for all equipment purchases and improvements that occur at the park. The park provides access to the Streamway Trail but also areas for rest and reflection

QUAIL CREEK PARK

A 5.25-acre linear park purchased by the City of Merriam after a torrential rainstorm flooded the area in the late 1990s. After much thought of what to do with the land, Quail Creek Park was dedicated on Oct. 19, 2002. Come explore Quail Creek Park nestled in the Antioch Hills neighborhood where residents can enjoy new playground equipment and safety surfacing.
TURKEY CREEK STREAMWAY TRAIL

Approximately 4.1 miles of paved, multi-use trail, running from 75th Street to Antioch Road. The trail route follows the path of Turkey Creek and passes through wooded areas, a butterfly garden, and several parks. Paved parking and access points provided at 75th Street entrance, Chatlain Park, Campbell Park, Merriam Marketplace, Werner Park, and Waterfall Park.
WATERFALL PARK

Named for its most prominent natural feature, this 15-acre park features an access point to the Turkey Creek Streamway Trail. Soccer practice fields are available by reservation one year in advance. Rental information can be found by downloading information here. This park will also be the home to the third public art piece "Hmmm..." along the Turkey Creek Streamway Trail within the park.
