Indoor Pool

Merriam Community Center Indoor Pool to Open March 1

New guidance recently issued by Johnson County health officials means we can reopen the indoor pool! Call the MCC at 913-322-5550 to reserve your spot for lap lanes and water walking.

Adult water classes will begin in March. Swimming lessons will start in April. Come back soon to see a complete schedule!

The Indoor Pool at the Merriam Community Center features four 25-yard lap lanes, two slides, a lazy river, splash and play features, zero-depth entry, and a warm water therapy pool. Water features will only be turned on during Open Swim times. Two lifeguards are on duty from 5 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday–Thursday. Five lifeguards are on duty at all other times. If you have any questions or concerns, please talk with an employee.

  • Help keep the pool clean by showering before you enter.
  • Proper swimsuit attire is required.
  • Swimsuits with metal or plastic zippers, buckles, rivets, buttons, or metal/plastic ornamentation are not permitted on any slide.

Lap Swimming & Water Walking

We have four lap lanes available for swimming. Six spaces are available per hour for water walking in the lazy river. Make reservations at the welcome desk or by calling 913-322-5550.

Lap lanes are 25 yards. A lap is down and back. 1 mile = 35 laps (or 70 wall touches)
